I don't understand at all what that is saying. I don't agree with Oscar Wilde because I think that if you are wise you learn from your experiences, not your inexperience. I don't know if that would make something more delightful and unexpected.

The instructor looks not exactly professional today but not terrible either. I think it is certainly a DIFFERENT sort of "get-up" for a school day, but she does have an interesting sort of style on any given day. Oh man, I didn't realize she has pig tails in right now too. This could be crossing the line!!!

I guess he is saying that he has done everything and there is nothing left to do, but that is not true. There is always something one hasn't done before. That is ludicrious to think that one single person has done absolutely everything that the entire world has to offer. Maybe he has done everything that he WANTS to do but not everything that is available to do.

Personally, I have no idea what that poem means at all. What's mingled and what's so near? It doesn't make any sense to me. I think that Langston Hughes was smoking Crack when he attempted to create a poem full of understanding. Sixteen words is not enough words to create a picture in my head that the writer is trying to get across.

If I could go back and change that one dollar bill into a million, I would do it! I would love to have financial security. That is what I strive for in life, and once I had it, I would continue to make it grow and grow and grow. I wouldn't be lazy about it and just live off the money. I would contribute some of it to charities, and I'd give some to my family. It would be awesome.

This assignment was just about perfect. It was a great way to get reaquainted with writing since I haven't had to do it in a long time. I felt that the rough draft was really rushed to get it in, and that there could have been a bit more of a direction given for it, but I think that the Final copy time has been perfect. It has given me a good amount of time to look over it and figure out what it is exactly I want to add and take out. This paper has helped me get ready for the assignments to come.
September 15, 2004 Oscar Wilde
I think the reason Oscar is saying that it takes a fine natured friend to sympathize with a friends success rather than just to sympathize with a friend is because people are competative by nature, and one would be more likely to tell a person to suck it up if it is due to their success. The reason for this is because it is just that...their success.

I think what this statement is trying to say is that this person is wondering what life would have brought if he/she would have chosen a different path in life. I think it is a question that everybody asks themselves at least once in their life. It's a way of trying to explore other avenues that life could have brought. It's healthy thinking unless the person becomes obsessed with the life he/she could have had.

I do believe that human life is a short affair and that you should do what you like and enjoy rather than to live a life that you don't enjoy. I do not; however, believe that you should not tell young people these truths. I love doing what I want and enjoying life. There are many ways that people can find happiness doing great things for our world. I do think that these statements could be taken incorrectly by young people. All that means to me is that one should explain it better to the young people. Explain what is acceptable in those situations and what is not. Something that is acceptable would be to be a burger flipper instead of a doctor if that is what you want to do. Something that would be unexceptable would be to kill someone because "you can do whatever you want." That would be where the big explaination would come in.

September 2, 2004 What is writing to me?
Writing to me is not exactly a chore. I don't mind having to write a paper as long as the topic is of interest to me. I find it very difficult to write when I know nothing about a topic or frankly don't care enough about a topic to put any thought or time into it. I do; however, really enjoy journaling. It is such a great thing to get to go back and read about what I was thinking or feeling on an exact day. I can really put myself back to the what was going on at the time I had originally written it. I did this when I was at Basic Training and AIT so that I could remember all that happened and so could my family. Writing is a great way to tell how I am feeling. I don't think that I am an excellent writer, but I also don't find that I am the worst writer in the world.

This is my first posting. Today after English I am heading to Aqua Aerobic, and then I plan to go work out for a little bit. I don't know exactly where the gym is, but I'll go ask someone where to find it. After that I think I am going to go home and take a nice long shower and do a little studying before I head to work for 4 hours. It should be a pretty easy day. It's already Wednesday. One more day of class tomorrow, and then Jerrick will be home on Friday. That will be nice to have him home again.
